1. Introduction
At Dale Liverpool Tours Ltd, we are committed to promoting responsible drinking and ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests during our tours. 2. UK Drinking Laws & Regulations
As a company operating in the UK, we comply with the following UK alcohol laws:
Legal Drinking Age: The minimum legal drinking age in the UK is 18. Anyone under 18 is prohibited from purchasing or consuming alcohol in licensed premises unless it is legally permitted (e.g., 16–17-year-olds consuming alcohol with a meal in certain circumstances).
Public Intoxication: It is an offence to be drunk and disorderly in a public place under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Public Order Act 1986.
Licensing Rules: Pubs, bars, and other establishments have the right to refuse service to any individual who appears intoxicated or is behaving inappropriately.
Drinking in Public Places: Some local authorities impose restrictions on drinking alcohol in designated public spaces.
Dale Liverpool Tours Ltd will always follow these regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
3. Our Approach to Responsible Drinking
We aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience while promoting safe alcohol consumption. Our approach includes:
3.1. Encouraging Sensible Consumption
We encourage guests to drink at a moderate pace and to stay within their limits.
Water and non-alcoholic options are always recommended and available.
Our tour guides and staff reserve the right to suggest taking breaks from alcohol if necessary.
3.2. Preventing Excessive Drinking
We do not condone binge drinking or excessive alcohol consumption on any of our tours.
If a guest appears visibly intoxicated, our tour guides may refuse further alcohol-related stops or recommend an alternative activity.
Licensed venues visited during tours have the right to refuse service to intoxicated individuals, in line with UK law.
3.3. Zero-Tolerance for Anti-Social Behavior
We do not tolerate aggressive, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour caused by alcohol consumption.
Guests who display unsafe, offensive, or disruptive behaviour due to alcohol consumption may be removed from the tour without a refund.
Local authorities may be contacted if behaviour is deemed unlawful or dangerous.
3.4. Drinking & Cycling/Walking Tours
On our bike tours, participants must ensure they are fit to cycle safely. Cycling while under the influence of alcohol is illegal under the UK Road Traffic Act 1988.
Guests on walking tours that include alcohol-related stops should drink responsibly and be mindful of their safety while navigating public areas.
---
4. Alcohol & Health Considerations
We encourage guests to follow the UK Government’s low-risk drinking guidelines, which recommend:
Drinking no more than 14 units of alcohol per week (spread over 3+ days).
Avoiding alcohol during pregnancy.
Drinking plenty of water and eating before/while consuming alcohol.
More information can be found on the Drinkaware website: www.drinkaware.co.uk.

5. Guest Responsibilities
By joining any of our tours, guests agree to:
Drink responsibly and respect their personal limits.
Follow UK laws and venue rules regarding alcohol consumption.
Behave respectfully toward tour guides, staff, and fellow participants.
Accept responsibility for their own health, well-being, and actions.
Failure to adhere to these responsibilities may result in:
Removal from the tour without a refund.
Refusal of further alcohol-related activities.
Reporting to authorities if necessary.
6. Tour Guide & Staff Authority
Our tour guides and staff have the authority to:
Suggest alternatives to alcohol-related stops if necessary.
Intervene if a guest is visibly intoxicated or behaving inappropriately.
Remove a participant from a tour if their behaviour puts themselves or others at risk.
Our priority is ensuring all guests enjoy the experience safely.
